Chutzpah
It takes some kind of chutzpah to use Moshe's speech to Reuven and Gad as proof that chareidim shouldn't be serving in the IDF.
Of course, when chutzpah is needed, Shas is sure to step to the bat.

Well, what Shas (leaders, membership) does and what it believes don't match in more ways than one.
And in any event, even the NRP is always defending yeshiva deferments. Looking over their right shoulders and all.
